An independent print publication on outdoor lifestyle, environmental stewardship and regenerative living.
A creative exploration of curiosity.
In 2012, alongside Rachel Maria Taylor, we set out to make a high-quality lifestyle publication, one that inspired connection to the outdoors, considered ways of living, environmental stewardship, and a sense of fulfilment in the everyday.
What began as a magazine became the start of a wider mission: to build culture and community around regenerative living, through championing outdoor lifestyle and nature connection.
“Nature is our home. Our biotic community comprises a wealth of species all interconnected and interdependent on one another, flourishing in a rich tapestry of life that spans the planet. For millions of years, we evolved in complete connection with the world around us. But sadly, many of us today are experiencing a crisis of belonging and feel distant from the natural world.”

Creative direction & lead photography.
Until its closure in 2022, I was creative director and lead photographer, working closely with the editor, design team, and print technicians to create immersive reading experiences that inspire, enlighten, and educate.
Our ambition was to invite readers into awe and wonder for the natural world, through the lens of people deeply connected to it.
Stocked in museums. Partnered with Patagonia. Supporting the work that matters.
Over nine years, the magazine reached readers in twenty countries and built relationships with the institutions, brands, and conservation projects whose values it shared. A small selection.
The Design Museum, Foyles, The Tate, and Selfridges in London; the Athenaeum in the Netherlands; and Mag Nation across Australia and New Zealand.
Patagonia (a six-year publishing partner), Klättermusen, and Sigma. Tourist boards in Norway, Sweden, Greenland, and Iceland. Ethical travel partners in Romania, India, and Borneo.
Foundation Conservation Carpathia, Trees for Life, Save Our Rivers, Save the Blue Heart of Europe, and The London Waterkeeper.
A new audience, the same voice.
A partnership that extended Another Escape’s vision to readers across China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, bringing 30,000 copies per volume to an entirely new audience, while staying true to the editorial voice we’d spent years building.
An Apple keynote & website feature.
The anotherescape.com website was featured on Apple’s website, in their WWDC 2021 keynote, and on macOS. A recognition of the design and storytelling we built over nine years of publishing.
The magazine ended.
The way of working didn’t.
Creative direction, editorial consultation, photography direction, the craft of magazine-making. The same instincts that shaped nine years of Another Escape, brought to regenerative businesses, conservation projects, and outdoor brands.
